Perspecto is a design-based learning tool that emphasizes the importance of taking different perspectives in the design process. It uses a collaborative story-based board game where students draw cards to follow the story of four friends on holiday. By experiencing different perspectives in the game, students learn to consider multiple viewpoints when designing products. This approach helps to develop more well-rounded and inclusive design solutions that better meet the needs of end-users.
Perspecto is a collaborative board game designed to teach students about conflicting values and perspectives in problem-solving. The game follows the story of four friends going on holidays, and players draw different cards to progress through the scenarios presented. Each scenario presents conflicting values or viewpoints of the in-game characters, such as choosing between travelling by airplane or train. The game encourages students to consider the perspectives of others, highlighting the importance of understanding different values and viewpoints.

Cards have NFC chips and can be added or removed to change the game's difficulty and track progress. Teachers can also change the cards to follow a specific narrative for educational purposes.
After testing Perspecto with secondary school students, I iteratively improved the design. The final test revealed that Perspecto successfully increased perspective-taking abilities among students.
